Analog Audio

Based in Bedford, Analog Audio is a private Hybrid Audio & Media Studio dedicated to rich analog character and meticulous sound. Alongside recording and mixing local bands, I offer services writing original soundtracks, composing film and gaming scores, and producing custom foley and sound design. Whether you are tracking a heavy live drum kit in a professionally treated room or looking for cinematic depth for a media project, Analog Audio combines tactile hardware warmth with uncompromising sonic precision.

The recording studio located in Bedford which has the capability to record live instruments and bands, as well as vocal overdubs, rap/hip hop vocals or solo songwriter projects. We specialise in high quality recordings, using excellent equipment, in combination with expertise and a well treated room, to achieve a sonically pleasant sound on the way in, as opposed to a lot of digital processing to fix issues after the fact.

The studio uses high quality and classic Microphones coupled with Neve Preamps/Compressors/EQs to achieve a professional and impressive sounding recording. Neve Preamps are famous for their thick, classic Analog sound, which can sound like tape when pushed. The studio also owns and uses famous hardware compressors and EQs to create an authentic, warm and real sound, including 1176 and Pultec EQs.

As the owner of the studio I have been involved in playing and recording music for 15 years, the knowledge I have from playing and recording has been added to with a degree which I hold from Point Blank Music School in Music Production and Sound Engineering. Here I developed already held skills professionally which include Mixing, Engineering, Audio restoration and editing, Composition and Scoring, Production and Songwriting/Arranging and also Video Game Audio using software such as FMOD.

The Recording Studio has live-in space for bands travelling distances to stay overnight for long sessions and complete projects in a relaxed and comfortable time frame and atmosphere. Accommodation fees can be agreed as part of a package and are very reasonable.

The option of recording live is possible at the studio in a treated environment or I can also offer location recordings for bands or Choirs/Orchestral ensembles in a larger acoustic space elsewhere with a full slimmed down portable recording set up, including microphones, cabling, sound treatment baffles and audio interface and computer set up.

Recording Studio & Location Tracking

From tracking heavy live drums on our Ludwig Classic Maple or Tama Birch kits in an acoustically treated live room to capture raw energy, to tracking full vocal sessions through iconic classic microphony—we offer an inspiring, uncompromising tracking environment.

We specialise in getting it right at the source by tracking direct through classic analog hardware in a properly treated space. Print pre-mixed, record-ready tones using our classic outboard chain:

Preamps: Authentic Neve 1073, 517, & 511 preamps alongside classic API 312s for instant analog depth, thickness, and punch.
Microphones: Legendary studio workhorses including the Neumann U87ai, Stam SA-67 MK3 (U67 tube condenser), Coles 4038 & Beyerdynamic M160 ribbons, and the EV RE20.
Dynamics & EQ: Sculpt your tone on the way in with physical UA 1176LN FET compression, Audioscape LA-2A Tube Opto leveling, Neve 551 Inductor EQs, or run synths and bass through genuine Neve 542 Tape Emulators.

Hybrid Analog Mixing & Stem Mastering

Give your digital tracks the "glue," tactile warmth, and spatial depth that only physical hardware can deliver. We offer both in-studio and remote hybrid mixing and stem mastering.

Your mixes pass through premier outboard gear—including our Stam SA4000 MK2 (SSL Stereo Bus Comp), Audioscape EQP-2A Stereo Tube Pultec, and Neve tape saturation—complemented by surgical digital tools like FabFilter Pro Q-4, Auto-Align 2, and Izotope RX. We deliver competitive, broadcast-ready masters tailored for Spotify, Apple Music, vinyl, or CD.

Your tracks, stems or MIDI performance can also be ran through a number of hardware or VST software options, either through multiple classic pieces of hardware, including Classic Preamps, Compressors and EQs to achieve the insustry standard vocal chain of Neve 1073 Pre>1176>LA-2A>Pultec or routing your drum bus or mix through the SSL G Comp. MIDI can also be ran through either of the classic synths (Roland Juno 106 or Moog Little Phatty) or through Spitfire Audios Abbey Road One for Orchestral Sounds or Abbey Road Two for intimate and classic String Quartet sounds.

Audio for Games, Foley & Cinematic Scoring

Bring your visual media to life with cinematic soundscapes and interactive sound engines. Drawing on advanced media composition and sound design expertise, we write bespoke film and game scores using vintage analog synths (Roland Juno-106, Moog Little Phatty) alongside industry-standard orchestral libraries like Spitfire Audio Abbey Road One or Kontakt 8.

We design custom SFX, record original Foley, and implement dynamic, interactive audio assets directly into game engines using middleware like FMOD.

Audio Post-Production, Restoration & Production

Don't let technical flaws compromise a great performance. We provide spectral audio restoration to eliminate room noise, mouth clicks, or electrical hum from podcast audio, dialogue, or archive tapes.

We also offer expert vocal tuning, phase alignment, custom remixing, and full-track production—transforming rough songwriter demos into fully arranged, commercial-grade productions ready for release.

THE STUDIO

The studio has a fully soundproofed live room which is 4m x 3m with the ability to take 24 channels into the separate control room. The room has been acoustically treated with a large suspended mineral wool cloud and has a solid oak floor.
